Professional Profile
Barrister Raheel Ahmed is a founding Partner of Orbis Law and one of Pakistan's most distinguished practitioners in international arbitration, legislative drafting, and public law. Called to the Bar of England and Wales at Lincoln's Inn, he holds multi-jurisdictional rights of audience and maintains an active practice as a Barrister at Cornwall Street Barristers, a leading barristers chambers based in the United Kingdom, where he regularly appears in English courts across a wide range of commercial and civil matters.
Raheel is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and an accredited international commercial mediator. He sits as an arbitrator and appears as counsel in both international commercial and domestic arbitration proceedings. He currently serves as an elected member of the Executive Committee of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Pakistan Branch, reflecting his standing as a leader within the international arbitration community in Pakistan.
His public law practice is underpinned by a decade of institutional service. He served as Adviser to the Chairman of the Pakistan Engineering Council from 2021 to 2024, and has advised the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges, drafting legislative instruments including the Contempt of Parliament Bill, 2023. He is regularly instructed by the Federal Government and public sector organisations to draft legislation, statutory rules, and institutional policy frameworks — a niche practice placing Orbis Law among a very small group of firms in Pakistan delivering work of this character at the national level.
In addition to his international and public law practice, Raheel has an extensive experience in transactional advisory and corporate commercial matters, representing both public sector and private clients. He has served as visiting faculty at multiple leading public and private institutions, including the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy.
